VLog Weekly Update 5/18/2024 3rd Week of May
I’ve been working on my comic. I’m still in the testing phase, trying to figure out supplies, layouts, colors, etc. I’m finalizing the dialogue as part of the rewrite of the chapter. It was originally 3rd person and I decided to rewrite it to be first person, from Todd’s perspective which went fairly quickly. I struggle with the show don’t tell concept, and so the rewrite is taking a little longer than I planned.
As for the comic I’m testing different markers, different papers, different colors. I’m practicing drawing with each attempt so it all helps move the comic forward, no time or effort is wasted. Materials Used.
Over the next few days each of the frames I’m testing will be posted. Let me know if you have any feedback on my progress, suggestions etc.
Frame 3 – Todd walking, early morning.
Frame 4 – Todd reaches the Trolley Stop
Frame 5 – Todd turns and faces the shadows.
Frame 6 – Todd begins casting a spell.
Frame 7 – Todd finishes a protection spell.
Frame 8 – The trolley slides out of the fog.
I made a page listing all the art supplies I’m using or testing for this project.
Then below is the first pass at a page layout, pencil on laser printer paper, and then an inked version on mixed media paper. As you can see, still struggling with the Trolley shape and design.
